Selling Stuff
Get rid of stuff you don't need as quickly as possible.
Faulty Equipment
Some electronics can still fetch a small price even if it's faulty. There are people who know how to fix them and then resell them for a higher price.
The only place I know where you can easily sell stuff is through the Carousell app.
However, Carousell, also known as Carouhell, has a lot of silly people to deal with. Which brings me to the next point.
Handling Undercutters
Sometimes you list an item for an already low price, a buyer will just message you something lower.
There are some ways you can take advantage of this:
- Check their listings and see if they have any items that you want. And ask them to include that item if the price of the item is within the difference.
- Make them come to you. Specify a time and place that is convenient for you if they want a discount.
- Tell them that in exchange for a discount, there will be no returns if there are any problems.
- If the listing contains some other items that you can use, you can remove that item from the listing
- When selling my faulty Apple Watch, the buyer offered a price lower than my listing. I said I'll accept the price if you come collect from my void deck, and that I also get to keep the charging cable. He agreed. Having an extra charging cable means I don't have to unplug my usual cable to bring with me when I travel overseas.
Or you can just ignore them and wait if you are not in any hurry to sell.
Friend Discounts
If a friend is interested in something you want to sell, it's fine to give them a discount as long as it's reasonable. Next time they have something to sell that you want, it'll be easier to get a lower price for it.
